Under the terms of the anti-money laundering regulation effective from 10 January 2020 we have updated our Terms and Conditions of Sales as advised by the Society of London Art Dealers (SLAD).
Please download the recently updated Terms and Conditions of Sale here.
We are now required to conduct customer due diligence (CDD) on all sales of works of art over €10,000 before the transaction is carried out. While therefore we may agree such a sale in principle, we will not be able to conclude (i.e. receive funds, give up possession or transfer title) it until we have received all the necessary CDD information from you and have been able to verify it as required by the regulation.
Below you will find the information we require from you depending on whether you are making the purchase as an individual or a legal entity. If your legal entity is not listed below or if you have any questions, please contact us.
All documents need to be originals or copies verified by approved bodies. Please send the documents as PDF attachments to elena@jamesbutterwick.com.
