We are delighted to announce that we will be returning to TEFAF Maastricht on 14–19 March 2026.

In 2026 we will be proudly presenting a landmark exhibition: the first comprehensive retrospective of the Ukrainian artist Dmitry Lebedev since 2013. Our stand will feature over eighty of his works, bringing renewed attention to one of Odessa’s most fascinating and enigmatic painters.

Lebedev’s short life was shaped by the turbulent history of Odessa between 1917 and 1920, a period when governments rose and fell until Soviet power finally took hold on February 8, 1920. As Gleb Vysheslavsky notes in his article *Dragged from the Forgotten*:

“From 1917 to 1920 the government of Odessa changed many times with Soviet power only taking hold on February 8th 1920. This entire time, irrespective of the regime, one type of power ruled above all – gangster power.”

This atmosphere of upheaval, starvation, pestilence, and chaos profoundly marked Lebedev’s work. Symbolism, with its focus on individuality, hopelessness, and the inner world, became his visual language — giving rise to the main themes that permeate his art: Dreams, Mythology, Religion, Death, and Loneliness.

Our presentation at TEFAF 2026 will not only celebrate Lebedev’s unique contribution to Ukrainian and European art but also mark a historic moment. His works have not been exhibited at this scale since the 2013 World Club of Odessans exhibition and, before that, not since December 7, 1919, when four of his works were shown at the State Museum of Decorative Arts in Odessa.
